Mag. Marek Ostafil
was born in 1974 in Krakow. He obtained his school matura and spent several semesters studying law and economics in the town of his birth.
In 2002 he completed his studies in art history at the Jagiellonen University in Krakow with a Masters degree.
His dissertation on the silver renaissance altar of the Sigismund chapel in Wawel Cathedral in Krakow was highly praised and recommended for publication.
1990/1991 he produced his own music programme for TV3, a regional television station in Krakow. He has worked since 1995 as assistant for the Muzyka Centrum
in Krakow and as Academy Assistant in the International Academy for New Composition and Audio Art in Tirol. In 1998 he was chosen from many European cultural
managers for a scholarship award to participate in the "European Summer Academy for Culture and Management" of KulturKontakt Austria in Salzburg.
He has produced and organised many concerts in Potocki Palace in Krzeszowice. Ostafil has worked on several documentaries for the Polish television station TVN and TVP2.
He worked for several years in Rome as production assistant on the documentary "John Paul II - The Man and his Legacy" and "Iceman 2" (Ítzi) for the Discovery Channel USA.
He also produced a smaller promotional film for the International Academy for New Composition and Audio Art that was broadcast by ORF Tirol in "Tirol Heute".
Together with his father Pawel Ostafil he has been responsible for two documentaries produced by avantgarde tirol in 2004 as well as promotional cinema films
for avantgarde tirol in 2006 and 2007.
